RS-ing around in new Audis
ONE of the big box tickers about motoring journalism is getting the chance to try out a car long before anyone who might be in the market to buy one actually gets their bum in the drivers seat.
A privilege indeed, all the more so when the car park in front of you contains upward of a million quids worth of hot new talent.
JD POWER SURVEY: Skodas on top
ŠKODA have taken the top two spots in the annual JD Power satisfaction survey.
Hammering home their reputation for reliable and versatile cars, the Superb (see elsewhere on this site for a review of the latest model) was voted the UK’s best car, and the highly competent Yeti was hot on its heels in second place.

RENAULT‘S Mégane Renaultsport is widely acclaimed as a benchmark hot hatch, but on the off chance it isn’t quite exclusive enough for some, here’s the answer – a new limited edition, the Mégane Renaultsport Red Bull Racing RB8.
The French manufacturer and Milton Keynes based Red Bull Racing celebrate their third Formula 1 Constructors’ world title with this limited edition which pretty well guarantees exclusivity – there will only be 30 sold in the UK.

HOW a beautiful car like this could be left to languish in a dusty barn, unloved and seemingly unwanted, is beyond me.
But this 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Coupe is set to have another day in the spotlight when it comes under the auctioneer’s gavel at the annual Bonhams auction at Aston Martin’s Heritage Showroom in Newport Pagnell this Saturday (May 18, 2013).
SILVERSTONE CLASSIC: tribute to the flying Scotsman
THE legendary racing achievements of double world champion Jim Clark will be honoured during a special event at this summer’s Silverstone Classic.
Staged in the dramatic new Silverstone Wing building, the inaugural BRDC Silverstone Classic Dinner will take place on Friday July 26, almost exactly 50 years after Clark won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 20, 1963 en route to his first World Championship crown. Open to members of the British Racing Drivers’ Club and Silverstone Classic competitors, the commemorative dinner will include special tributes to the Scotsman – a racing legend still widely hailed to be the greatest ever Grand Prix driver.

THERE are times when I regret saying goodbye to our Audi A4 cabriolet – the other day was one of them.
Not that I would be in the market for the car that started twanging the old nostalgia strings. At £68,985, the RS5 cabriolet is definitely a car for the well heeled (and not just the well coiffeured four inch heeled) as well as the well walleted.

The official launch of the Nissan Van Report says they do actually care about how they drive, and it came as Nissan debuted their 100 per cent electric eNV200 at the CV Show in Birmingham. The report gives an insight into the modern day professional driver and shows that they’ve got more in common with other motorists than we might have thought.
